Accounts on another Mac
The current model
Section titled “The current model”Primail does not use one Primail-account email that carries every mailbox to every device. Settings → Primail Account explains that vault sign-up, sign-in, recovery, and rotation are unavailable.
What you do instead:
- Install or build Primail on that Mac (Availability).
- Connect each email account on that device (password or OAuth).
- Wait for IMAP to fill the local cache.
You type provider credentials once per device (or use that device’s Keychain after a successful add). There is no QR pairing and no TOTP Primail login.
What “follows you”
Section titled “What “follows you””- Mail content and many IMAP flags — follow the provider. A second Mac that adds the same address sees the same mailbox after fetch.
- Local client state (pins, smart-folder queries, signatures, local drafts, scheduled sends, account colors) — stays on the Mac that created it, until optional iCloud configuration sync exists.
iOS sign-in is future work.
What this page used to describe
Section titled “What this page used to describe”Create Account, mandatory authenticator enrollment, 24-hour recovery email, and “every signature is already there” were designed around a vault that the GUI does not offer. Do not follow those steps; the controls are not there.
Signing out
Section titled “Signing out”There is no Primail Account Sign Out that clears a cloud session. To stop using a mailbox on this Mac, remove the account. To stop using the app, uninstall it (Remove local accounts and app data).
